Kellie Castle and Garden (NTS)
Pittenweem
Kellie Castle is a very fine example of the domestic architecture of Lowland Scotland. The oldest part is believed to date from 1360, but the building in its present form is mainly 16th-and early 17th-century and was completed about 1606. Sympathetically restored by the Lorimer family around 1878, it contains magnificent plaster ceilings, painted panelling and furniture designed by Sir Robert Lorimer. The late Victorian walled garden has a fine selection of old-fashioned roses, fruit trees and herbaceous plants. Display in summerhouse on history of the walled garden, video programme, tearoom, shop, and adventure playground.
Opening Times
Castle, Good Friday to Easter Monday and May to September, daily 1.00pm - 5.00pm. Tearoom, same dates, but opens at 12.00pm. Garden, all year, daily 9.30am – 5.30pm. Grounds, all year, daily.
