Abercorn Kirk

An ancient Christian site, there has been a church here since the late 7th century. The present church dates from 16th century, its splendid Hopetoun Loft was fitted out in 1708. Fine 17th - 18th century gravestones.

Founded by Sir Alexander Hume in the mid 15th century. Three chaplains and four choirboys once delivered masses here for the founder's family. By the 18th century it had become a stable and barn.
