Within a mile of the village of Kilmartin there are an amazing number of prehistoric sites: standing stones; rock carvings; several massive burial cairns and two intimate stone circles. Many are signposted. There is a museum at Kilmartin House.
This late 15th century cross once stood in the middle of the Old Town of Inveraray, near where the castle is today. Several carvings, including the crucifix, were removed at the Reformation.
