Swing through the trees

25/06/2007

Offering three hours of adrenalin-fuelled fun and adventure, Scotland's first 'Go Ape' high wire adventure course has just opened in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, near Aberfoyle, Stirlingshire.

The course lets adults and children climb rope ladders up into the treetops and experience the thrills of trekking from tree to tree, some 40 feet above the forest floor!

Split into six challenging zones the course includes a series of rope ladders and bridges, Tarzan swings, trapezes, stirrup crossings and the longest zip wire in Great Britain measuring 426 metres.

Tristram Mayhew, owner and Chief Gorilla, said "Creating adventures and encouraging others to live life more adventurously is the ethos behind Go Ape. It's very much about introducing people, young and old to the forest and being able to explore the forest from a differet perspective."
