Thirlestane Castle, one of the seven Great Houses of Scotland, is the ancient home of the Maitland Family including the Earls and Duke of Lauderdale. Its origins are in the 13th century but has been rebuilt and extended over the generations. The 17th century ceilings in the State rooms are unrivalled and there are fine collections of furniture, pictures and Historic toys to enjoy.
See the old kitchens, laundries and country life displays and relax in the beautiful parkland setting.
Gift shop and café, woodland walk and picnic tables, audio visual display, free parking.
