Home to the Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe, Floors is the largest inhabited house in Scotland. Built by William Adam between 1718 and 1725 the castle was remodeled some hundred years later by the leading Edinburgh architect, William Playfair. The result is a romantic fairytale castle with a roofscape of turrets, pinnacles a cupolas.
The house has many spectacular state rooms filled with priceless, European paintings, tapestries and furnishings. Also many other interesting rooms including a Bird Room, Billiard Room, Gallery and Robe Room.
The walled garden features superb herbaceous borders, vegetable beds and a peach house. The fascinating two acre 'Millennium Parterre' was created in 2000. Woodlands planted with rhododendrons and azaleas.
Garden centre, coffee shop, restaurant, gift shop, children's adventure playground, woodland and riverside walks.
