J M Barrie, the ninth of ten children of a handloom weaver, and author of Peter Pan, was born here in 1860. The upper floor rooms are furnished as they may have been when Barrie lived there. See the imaginative exhibition about this famous novelist and dramatist with life-size figures, miniature stage sets, theatre posters and stage costumes. Don't miss the little wash-house - Barrie's first theatre, and the inspiration for the Wendy House. Audio programme. Cafe and small shop with limited range of J M Barrie-related books.
