The CairnGorm Funicular is the country's highest mountain railway. The spectacular panoramic views from the terrace of the Ptarmigan Restaurant, just under the summit of Cairngorm, together with the mountain exhibition and shop, offer an excellent all weather experience that is both memorable and unique.
As you enjoy the journey of approximately 8 minutes, wonder at the rugged corries of the northern Cairngorms, an exceptional environment, internationally valued for their landscape and rare habitats.
CairnGorm Mountain is Scotland’s premier winter sports playground, with many ski runs. Snowsports school for both skiers and snowboarders plus full hire facilities.

Non-ski facilities open all year. Skiing season runs from December to April, depending on snow cover.

The Railway is adapted to carry two wheelchair passengers, and the Base Station and Ptarmigan Buildings both have lift access. Please call Visitor Information.
